With GSA including environmental considerations in more contract solicitations every year, we’re sharing new training to help vendors reduce energy costs, protect the environment, and increase their competitiveness in winning GSA contracts. The training focuses on easy steps vendors can take to reduce their energy costs and associated greenhouse gas pollution, which causes global warming. GSA Seeks Responses to Climate Change Adaptation Services RFI

Do you have ideas on how to support federal climate change adaptation activities? GSA wants to hear from you. 

GSA issued a Request for Information (RFI) to evaluate the emerging marketplace for services to support federal climate change adaptation activities. This RFI will help GSA gather information to determine what actions are needed to ensure climate change adaptation services are readily available for its customers.

GSA Updates the Green Procurement Compilation (GPC) with Several New Features

 

GSA recently updated its Green Procurement Compilation (GPC) -- formerly Green Products Compilation -- to include several new features, including a portal devoted to green services.

The GPC is a publicly available web site that allows users to identify applicable federal green purchasing requirements for products and services.

Green Purchasing Survey

Help EPA better understand how you and your agency tackle purchasing environmentally preferable products and services.  EPA's Environmentally Preferable Purchasing Program (EPP) is focused on allows the governement to purchase in a way that has a reduced impact on the environment.  No prior knowledge or experience is required in order to take this survey, which is eligible for one (1) CLP credit!

Building Strategic Awareness: Understanding Climate Change

 

When Superstorm Sandy slammed into the eastern seaboard of the United States in late October, it left behind a devastating path of destruction.  Millions were left without power, more than 100 people lost their lives, shorelines and the homes along them were destroyed, wind damaged homes and toppled trees, and the usually bustling streets of New York City’s Financial District were flooded, washing away cars and not to mention closing the New York Stock Exchange for the first time due to weather since the late 1800s.
