Encouraging agencies to reduce waste by leveraging their "own buying power," the Administrator of the Office of Federal Procurement Policy, Dan Gordon, issued guidance designed to reduce duplication in acquisitions by increasing interagency contracting and information sharing. This came out as a memorandum to Chief Acquisition Officer and Senior Procurement Executives on September 29, 2011. As we discuss in the video series, this represents the type of communication that successful contractors need to stay tuned in to.

Per the latest OMB Scorecard release (June 2012), 11 out of 23 agencies scored "Red" in the Green Buildings category. With various resources available (i.e., Energy and Utility Savings Performance Contracts, Space reduction/revitalization mandates and green buildings certifications), where/why is the Federal government falling short in "greening" its facilities?

The Integrations business case continues to make its way through the Federal Acquisition Service approval process. It is currently with the FAS Controller who is considering all aspects of the business case including GSA's ability to recoup its costs.
