CAFE: An Exciting Evolution from the Cloud ConFIG Initiative

The Cloud Contract Fostering Innovation in Government (Cloud ConFIG) effort provided us with a tremendous amount of information and shared insights, but was ultimately not the right option at the right time due to evolving market conditions.  As a result, the Cloud Acquisition for Federal Enterprise (CAFE) initiative, a solutions focused effort, evolved from Cloud ConFIG. GSA’s CAFE effort is moving forward to become the best cloud solutions for the government.

The Center for Climate and Energy Solutions has just completed a white paper including case studies on sustainability practices across the federal government. The paper highlights GSA's work in the areas of workspace modernization, print management, cloud computing and green building/energy reduction measures.

GSA’s Cloud Computing Services (CCS) PMO approached the idea of a cloud computing IDIQ with an informed mindset, in part to assure that the scope of the contract offerings is cloud-specific and provides enough breadth by way of existing services, as well as with any future developments in the cloud computing space.

CCS Industry Partners Encouraged to Apply to S70 Cloud SIN

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently released a Request for Information (RFI) regarding a potential cloud computing procurement opportunity for the future. As a result, the GSA Cloud Computing Services Program Management Office (CCS PMO) is inviting companies that provide cloud computing services to apply to list their solutions on the CCS Special Item Number (SIN) 132 40 on GSA’s IT Schedule 70.

Cloud SIN DRAFT Terms and Conditions - Available for Review and Comment!

 The IT Schedule 70 Cloud Program Management Office (PMO) hosted an onsite Industry Day on November 18th and would like to thank industry members for participating in our event.  During that meeting, we shared insights from the Cloud SIN RFI responses, responded to participants questions, and discussed the path forward on the Cloud SIN.  We received some great feedback and look forward to our continued collaboration throughout this process.

Request for Information (RFI) issued for proposed Cloud Computing Services SIN

On July 9th GSA released an RFI on FedBizOpps for a Cloud Computing Services SIN under IT Schedule 70. Though IT Schedule 70 has always offered Cloud services, discussions across a myriad of customers, industry partners, and acquisition groups revealed that creating a new Special Item Number (SIN) specific to Cloud Computing Services may help agencies acquire cloud services on Schedule 70 more easily.
