GSA Piloting Stock Disruption Indicators on GSA Advantage!

Taking a small step toward addressing customer order fulfillment issues, GSA Advantage! will now display stock disruption information as available from manufacturers and wholesalers reporting issues in the Verified Products Portal (VPP). 

Effective January 13, 2022, any product with a stock issue reported in the VPP will have a banner displayed on GSA Advantage! advising customers that the manufacturer or wholesaler is reporting an issue. The banner will encourage customers to contact the contractor to confirm product availability prior to placing an order. Stock disruption statuses will include “limited stock”, “out of stock”, “end of life”, and “discontinued”.  This information reflects manufacturer/wholesaler stock status and should not be misconstrued as stock information for individual contractors.

Currently, GSA has stock disruption information for about 5,000 products. This number will fluctuate with the supply chain, and GSA has the intention to grow this capability to address long-standing customer order fulfillment issues.
