The Forecast Calls for Contracting Opportunities

Winter is here in many parts of the world. Depending on where you live, the forecast can be unpredictable. Some areas estimate warmer-than-average conditions while below-average temperatures are predicted in other regions. However, when it comes to contracting opportunities, the forecast is always certain! Public Law (PL) 100-656, the Business Opportunity Development Reform Act of 1988, requires executive agencies to provide a forecast of expected contract opportunities, including contracting opportunities for small businesses. The Forecast of Contracting Opportunities is a primary means for communicating contracting needs to the vendor community. It's critical to enhance competition.

As we enter the second quarter of the fiscal year, now is the time for your small business to take advantage of this valuable resource. GSA’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization knows that finding contracting opportunities is sometimes the biggest challenge. That’s why we developed the Forecast of Contracting Opportunities tool, a nationwide dashboard of anticipated federal contracting opportunities. Small businesses can find and learn about potential contracting opportunities early in the acquisition process, enabling them to prepare market strategies in advance. The forecast tool features opportunities from GSA, the Department of the Interior, the Department of Labor, and the Small Business Administration. Opportunities can be searched by agency, small business set-aside, NAICS code, and more. Browse the Forecast of Contracting Opportunities tool and check it out for yourself! More information on the forecast tool is available in this factsheet: Use the GSA Forecast Tool to Find Contracting Opportunities.

In addition, you can search all executive agency contracting forecasts at https://go.usa.gov/xFRbn.

Don’t stop with agency forecasts. Use these other resources to find opportunities:
