Service Enhancements - December 2018

Changes/updates since last Blue Top

November 9-12, 2018: USAccess Release 14 was pushed to production as scheduled. This release upgraded the Card Management System (CMS) to allow USAccess to issue V8.1 cardstock.

This upgrade required new ActiveX controls on all workstations that conduct activations/updates/rekeys. All fixed workstations received these new controls using our automated systems. Agencies are responsible for updating all mobile workstations (LA, LCS, MCUs and desktop rekey workstations). If your credentialing workstations are having issues completing activations or updates, please make sure your systems were updated using the latest LA, LCS, MCU and desktop rekey files posted on the USAccess SFTP site. For more information, please see the Release 14 release notice and LA/LCS/MCU installer notice (dated October 4, 2018) posted on the Agency Lead Portal.

December 1-2, 2018: Maintenance completed as scheduled.

Updated rekey system generated email template to remove text that says that if certificates expire, they need to re-enroll to get a new credential. The system was updated with Release 10.1 to no longer require re-enrollment if a credential is terminated due to cert expiration.

Planned system events

January 5-6, 2019: Routine monthly maintenance is scheduled for this weekend. Please plan for the USAccess service to be unavailable starting at 5:30 a.m. Eastern on Saturday through 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Sunday.

January 19-21, 2019: USAccess Release 15 is currently scheduled for this weekend. This release is an upgrade to the Card Management System (CMS) that is used to activate and update/rekey USAccess credentials. As a result, all USAccess workstations (LA, LCS, MCU, desktop rekey and all fixed workstations) must be updated in order to work with the new CMS once it moves to production.  More information will be provided in a special communication to Agency Leads.

Please be aware that planned maintenance periods can sometimes result in unanticipated delays in service. Please ensure that systems are operable prior to your first appointment following a maintenance weekend. We will notify you of unanticipated delays.
