Service Enhancements - November 2018

Changes/updates since last Blue Top

  • November 3-4: Routine monthly maintenance was completed as scheduled.

 

Planned system events

  • November 9-12: USAccess Release 14.0 is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. ET on Friday, November 9 and run through 11:59 p.m. ET on Monday, November 12. Please plan for the USAccess service to be unavailable during this time.

Card batching will be turned off starting at 3 a.m. ET on Thursday, November 8 and remain unavailable until 11:59 p.m. ET Monday, November 12. This means cards cannot be printed (either locally or centralized) until Tuesday, November 13th when card batches begin processing again. For cards marked for central printing, please allow a few extra days to allow batch backlog to complete, printing to resume, and cards to arrive onsite.

 

Release details and system updates required

This release includes an upgrade to the Card Management System (CMS) to allow USAccess to issue V8.1 cardstock. As a result of this upgrade, all fixed and mobile workstations (LA, LCS, MCUs and desktop rekey workstations) must have a new version of the ActiveX controls installed in order to complete activations and updates once Release 14.0 is pushed to production. If systems are not updated, they cannot complete activations or updates.

 

LA, LCS and MCU installers that contain these updated ActiveX controls are posted on the USAccess SFTP server and can be deployed at any time as they work in the current USAccess infrastructure. There is also a .zip file for desktop rekey that includes the new ActiveX controls.

 

Fixed workstations will be updated automatically. A TRACKs advisory will be posted per the normal process.

  • December 1-2: Routine monthly maintenance is scheduled for this weekend. Please plan for the USAccess service to be unavailable starting at 5:30 a.m. ET on Saturday through 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday.

 

Please be aware that planned maintenance periods can sometimes result in unanticipated delays in service. Please ensure that systems are operable prior to your first appointment following a maintenance weekend. We will notify you of unanticipated delays.
