Vicky Niblett Featured in “Women of Washington” Podcast

The Integrated Award Environment’s Deputy Assistant Commissioner Vicky Niblett was the featured guest in a recent episode of the “Women of Washington” podcast, which welcomes the city’s most ambitions and influential female executives to share their life lessons and secrets to success.

Covering a variety of topics, Niblett discussed with host Gigi Schumm her role in providing management and oversight of the IAE.

“If you’re a contracting officer, you may have to go into five or six of our different systems with different usernames, different passwords, and do your job,” Niblett said. “So we’re creating one environment where you can come to a one-stop shop to do your job.”

Niblett gave listeners a detailed account of her background in the federal government, including a stint as deputy product director within the Army’s Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems.

As one of six children raised by a single mother, Niblett has benefited from inspirational women throughout her life. She credits much of her confidence to her late grandmother, who also worked in the federal government. Niblett spoke about advice she gave her shortly before passing awaywhich helped motivate her own career advancement and her continued advocacy for women, especially in leadership roles.

“She said ‘don’t ever let anyone take away your rights as a woman, because I worked really hard to get those for you.’”
