Transition for Office Supplies under GSA Global Supply

Customers of GSA Global Supply were recently notified about a  new strategic sourcing initiative to support federal buyers of office supplies. By identifying high-demand items and focusing on a streamlined competition, GSA was able to select a handful of vendors to support those National Stock Numbers (NSN) and offer our requisitioning customers lower prices and faster delivery.


Note that as this program takes hold, we are discontinuing a parallel program that offered office supplies identified not with NSNs, but with part numbers, to GSA Global Supply customers. These items had a standard prefix, most recently “OS3A” and were intended to supplement our NSN offering in recent years. Those OS3A items will no longer be available for phone orders or online customers as of November 30, 2015.


The good news for customers is that our new strategic sourcing contracts allow those vendor partners to propose supplementing their NSNs with part-numbered items.  During early December, we anticipate adding more office supplies identified with a part number that includes a standard prefix that’s still to be confirmed. Customers are invited to visit us online at the GSA Global Supply or GSA Advantage websites after December 21 to see our refreshed selection of office products.  They can order existing part-numbered office supplies (e.g. starting with “OS3A”) through November 27.
