Effective immediately, federal agencies must undertake additional outreach and research to make more informed decisions prior to awarding contracts for high-risk programs per an Office of Federal Procurement Policy Memo released July 10, 2014. High-risk contracts are defined as acquisitions for complex information technology development systems, services over $500,000 and other acquisitions (contracts or orders) identified by the agency as presenting a significant risk.
