I am still pretty new at this whole realm of Government selling but am learning a lot, and very quickly (though I feel like it took forever to learn anything). Being such, we have done a lot of leg work to contact the government contacts that interest us, etc. I do have a lot to learn yet about Marketing to the government.

When you mention bid does that equate to a quote? If yes, I guess all the quotes will have to be evaluated and depending on what your evaluation criteria is in terms of past performance and technical factors being significantly more important than cost/...Read More

During our virtual training sessions on the "Doing Business with GSA" Web Series we often have small businesses that would like to connect.  So we have created this discussion area to provide a source of community for those of you who understand that value. Please do not market on this page.

http://www.gsa.gov/portal/content/101378They froze it October 2010 and said it will re-open in 24 months. With the Demand Based Model coming and some potential freezing of more Schedules, I would expect the GSA to potentially postpone the re-opening. We...Read More

GSA is still evaluating Schedule 75 to determine if it is in the best interest of the Government to either re-open or maintain the current status.  A final decision will be published in FED BizOps within the next two weeks.
    JLEE
After review and careful consideration, it has been determined Schedule 75 will remain closed to new offers for an additional 12 months. The Schedule will re-open effective October 1, 2013 and new offers will be accepted at that time.

Our company has recently completed 5 projects for DOD through the DLA Disposition Services.   We have repurposed over 3500 office furniture workstations into the commercial used furniture market.  This resulted in reducing landfill volume by over 10,000 cubic yards.  In addition we saved the agencies well over $3 mil in disposition expenses.   Our process is about as green as it gets, and is an absolute win-win for the agency and the environment.  Is anyone aware of other similar initiatives like this underway in non DOD agencies?

Yesterday I got a call from a very nice guy asking me some questions and trying to see if a GSA Contract would be worth pursuing for his customer. He specifically asked me how many government contracts go through the GSA, and I didn't know the exact answer, so I did some research. Comparing GSA sales numbers from the GSA Schedule Search Query (SSQ) to overall federal contract numbers from usaspending.gov, I was able to calculate the percentages of federal contracts that are GSA contracts from 2008 - 2011. I turned he results into a blogpost here:

I requested the contract for an incumbent service provider and the USMS responded to the FOIA request with,"Look it up on FBO.gov," essentially. How do you look up post award contracts on FBO.gov? And are all contracts awarded archived there?
