Coming Soon: OASIS Industry Day!

Hello, Industry Members!

In final preparation for the release of the draft RFP, we recently met with customer agencies to discuss various elements of the OASIS contract vehicle. The draft RFP that you’ll see soon will reflect the concerns and needs of our agency customers gathered during this process.

The development of a contract vehicle of this significance, and potential impact on the quality of federal acquisition practices, can only benefit from the involvement of both federal and industry professionals and a balancing of the respective viewpoints. With our continued commitment to transparency, we will be hosting an Industry Day, which is tentatively scheduled for Monday, May 13, 2013, to answer questions you may have as a result of reviewing the draft RFP.

The OASIS Industry Day will be held locally and we realize that not everyone will be able to attend in person. At this point in the planning process, our intention is to create a video, which we will share the week following the event. The Industry Day sessions will be hosted in two parts- one for OASIS and one for OASIS SB- and we will ensure that both parts are recorded.

Please share your feedback regarding this event and how we can best meet your expectations. As always, I invite you to respond either directly to this blog or via our OASIS inbox (oasis@gsa.gov).

We look forward to your feedback on this issue.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for all your info in this thread. I would just like to ask a few questions about the requirements to register for the 1v1 sessions. I have the link to the registration form, my questions are in regards to the white paper draft RFP that we need to submit alongside the online registration.

What should this White Paper entail? Should it be focused toward more toward:

The company?

The company's capablities/industries/past work experience?

Page Limits?

Just looking for some basic guidelines as to what content is expected in the White Paper Submission. Is there a link somewhere that I missed which has this info?

Thanks!

Hi Jim,

Great idea to host an Industry Day. Since many of us have held strong interest from early on, and have registered on your Excel list that you publish monthly, is it possible to make sure that those companies have first dibs on registering for Industry Day? We will be definitely Priming the Small Business RFP and want to make sure we're in the event in person to facilitate networking with potential partners.

Thanks!

Has the business case for OASIS been approved bt OMB? If yes, does it have to be resubmitted for re-approval after the draft RFQ has been issued and x number more questions are submitted?

While videotaping provides historical viewing, is there an consideration for a possible WebEx? This would allow many users to attend that might otherwise be omitted because of space limitations.

It would be great to identify companies at Industry Day who are interested in subcontracting and those interested in prime, so companies can identify and connect during the event more effectively. Perhaps a designation on everyone's badge?

We’ll take it into consideration as we plan the event. I suspect that room capacity will have a big impact on our ability to do this, but we’ll certainly see what we can do. Jim
