Will GSA also add SINs 132-32 and 132-33 as eligible for reinstatement fees for lapsed Software Maintenance as a Product? This clarification/addition will align the SINs with commercial practices.

The Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) contract vehicle is one of GSA’s longest-standing contract vehicles. For that reason, there have been minimal program changes made to MAS over the years. But even the most successful contract vehicles may need updates to meet Commissioner Alan Thomas’ goal that acquisition be “easy, efficient, and modern.”  We want to hear your thoughts and ideas for updating the MAS program.

Recent requirements mandating federal government customers to move their IT computing applications and infrastructure to the cloud have increased the demand for cloud computing, but have also revealed some current cloud acquisition challenges. Under the IT Schedule 70 Program, the current Cloud SIN (132-40) was developed and implemented in 2015. GSA’s experience helping cloud customers navigate this relatively new SIN has revealed a few areas that can be revised to align with today’s market for acquiring cloud.
