I am still pretty new at this whole realm of Government selling but am learning a lot, and very quickly (though I feel like it took forever to learn anything). Being such, we have done a lot of leg work to contact the government contacts that interest us, etc. I do have a lot to learn yet about Marketing to the government.

When you mention bid does that equate to a quote? If yes, I guess all the quotes will have to be evaluated and depending on what your evaluation criteria is in terms of past performance and technical factors being significantly more important than cost/...Read More

I just signed onto gsa, for the purpose of establishing a IDQ contract. I'm not sure where to go from here! Any comments that could send me in the right direction?
This is not user friendly--especially using vdi (teleworking)!  If you need to go back to take a test over again, you must log out and in again.  Then the password does not work.  Very time-consuming! And there's no place to go for...Read More

    1. Since Twitter has discontinued the RSS feed function, what url should I list in my Interact Group Aggregator to replicate my Twitter feed? 2. How do you embed a .swf or YouTube file in a content block (code or is there another trick?) 3. This is more of a suggestion. It would be nice if voters could select more than one answer on polls. Thanks!

A major flaw in the GSA MAS solicitation is nowhere in the body of the document does it give any marketing  advice to a new contractor as how they could market their contract.  After the solicitation turns into a contract most new contractors say to themselves or to colleagues now what do I do with it? Until there is marketing help listed within each new GSA solicitation, the mortality rate of losing new contractors in the first two years of their contract will cotinue to grow and cost the Federal Government multiples thousands of dollars per failed contract.

I've had numerous GSA contracts awarded, and every time,GSA has included the subject documentation via a link or hard-copy.  Inside this documenation, it has a whole section divoted to marketing your newly awarded GSA schedule.
Hi Marvin, you are correct, the solicitation does not provide guidance.  However, many companies use the Vendor Support Center as a valuable too. The government marketplace section has great info and links. https://vsc.gsa.gov/common/modules/...Read More

Yes, if the task order contains the FAR clause 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services (NOV 1999), then you may extend the period of performance by up to 6  months.
Thank you for a quick response.  However, the task order does not have the FAR clause 52.217-8 but the GSA Contract does.  Can I still extend for another year, plus add an option (1 year proiced option)?
Answer to your question is likely contract specific.  I suggest you confer directly with the contracting officer for the Basic Contract you are working under.
