Hello!
For those of you visiting this community today, you may be asking yourselves, “What’s OASIS?” As you can see, Integrations has been renamed. OASIS, the official name of our new total professional services solution with an IT component, stands for One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services. We believe this new name, generated with input from industry members, is representative of the true value this vehicle will bring to the Federal government.
Selecting a name for a solution is no small task; a name must not only be recognizable, but it must also convey the solution’s purpose and value. That’s why it was so important to the Integrations—now OASIS—team to seek feedback and suggestions from industry members such as yourselves. Maintaining communication with industry is a key part of the OASIS development process. As you know, launching a new product or solution involves a lot of steps. Ensuring that a solution is successful is a team effort, and we at FAS consider industry a part of that team.
Now that we’ve settled on a name for our solution and received approval of the internal business case, we’re ready to move toward other important goals. The OASIS team has a pretty long to-do list, which includes key goals for 2012, which Jeff Koses, Director of Acquisition Operations, explained in an earlier post. I‘ll be sure to keep you informed along the way as OASIS gets closer to launch. Check back frequently as we'll be announcing upcoming outreach events with industry, including an overview presentation and networking session at GSA Expo 2012 in San Antonio, TX. You won’t want to miss out!
Please keep checking in with the OASIS Industry Community, and of course, let us know what you think of our solution’s new name as well as our new OASIS site on the GSA homepage at www.gsa.gov/oasis.
