On our most recent discussion board there was quite a bit a chatter about the improvement of the application process for GSA Schedules.  We want to know your ideas and suggestions.  As technology improves and the agency circulates leadership - fresh perspectives help keep us all going. Chime in with your ideas, suggestions, etc.

Did you know that the Office of Small Business was at the 2011 GSA EXPO in San Diego, CA?  We presented more than 6 classes and hosted a mini event we called the Small Business Symposium which had additional training and matchmaking.  We had a goal to provide a new and improved small business website, organization page and the much anticipated, finally updated, "Doing Business with GSA" publication.  Not to mention new marketing materials to boot!  We got it done and we are proud to share our website and publication updates with you.

Recently we posted a poll on Interact asking if the new GSA social media was working.  Some said yes and some said no.  Tell us what works and what doesn't so that we can improve our methods of reaching out to you - the customer.

I have recently joined the Sustainability in Procurement Fellows which is led by Nancy Gillis and is helping immensely in expanding my knowledge of the topic to be a resource for small business.  The Executive Order (E.O.) 13514 is pushing Federal buyers to make sustainable acquisitions.  What this means for small business is that some procurements will have requirements and standards as to what the government considers green.  Vendors who are currently calling themselves green may not be viewed that way by government buyers in the near future.

So it's 7:04 PM and I still have small business on the brain.  We just did a brain storm to develop a webinar or video to really get projects out to small busienss.  We are pretty focused on our Veteran opportunities since it's the only goal we are just shy or exceeding.  We mapped out a plan and will pitch it next week to get buy-in.  We are hoping this will be just one more way small business feels we are advocating for them.  We know that in the end the customer needs to be happy and small business is our customer.  I'm going home and I'll be back tomorrow with new ideas and new plans to
