USAccess Blue Top Interact Site

Starting this week, we will no longer be posting copies of the Blue Top newsletters to the Agency Lead Portal or FedIDCard.gov. We now have an online repository where you will be able to find past and current articles. We will continue to send you the newsletters via email on the second and fourth Thursday of each month but this will also allow us to post updates as needed. The USAccess PIN is a six (6) to eight (8) digit number known only by the cardholder and used to authenticate the cardholder to an agency enterprise IT network. Your USAccess PIV - something you have - and PIN - something you know - are key elements of the multi-factor security used to access government data and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificates on your card's integrated computer chip. Your agency's logical or physical access systems may require the PIN to unlock the PIV card before you can successfully authenticate to the IT system.

Just prior to the December holidays, several Light Activation kits were shipped to a handful of customers with a new Suprema fingerprint device, instead of the Cogent 330 device. This swap occurred due to procurement issues with the Cogent 330. The performance of the Suprema is equal to the Cogent device and was tested thoroughly before deployment to the field.

With the release of 10.1 on January 7, 2017, you will now need to log into the USAccess portals with your PIV card and your PIN.  If you do not know your PIN or you think you may have forgotten it, please make an appointment at a credentialing center to get a new one. You may want to schedule an appointment sooner rather than later as there may be an increase in PIN resets due to this change.
