Please remember that the USAccess program and the U.S.Department of Homeland Security (DHS) requires us to accept two identity documents for applicant enrollment, one Primary and one Secondary. Please see “List of Acceptable Forms of Identification Guide” on FedIDCard.gov for details. A second document from the Primary forms of identification list can be used as a Secondary proof of identity. However, two forms of identification from the Secondary forms of identification list are not approved for applicant enrollment

Just a reminder that all of the USAccess Roleholder Training Courses, Job Aids, and Registrar/Activator Refresher Training recordings are available on the GoLearn training portal. In order to access the portal go to https://piv.golearnportal.org/. Use your work email address and the registration password of 12345678 to create your account. Each role is listed so users can click on their role and get the available job aid. Any questions can be sent to Jim Schoening at jim.schoening@gsa.gov.

Based on suggestions gleaned from our Refresher Training Questionnaire for our Activators and Registrars, we have created a new distribution list specifically for Refresher Training attendees. Via this distribution list, we will be sending out training reminders leading up to each training. We will also send out the agenda prior to the training. Please note that this distribution list is solely to communicate Refresher Training information, and will not be used in lieu of TRACKS to communicate system alerts and the like.

Starting this week, we will no longer be posting copies of the Blue Top newsletters to the Agency Lead Portal or FedIDCard.gov. We now have an online repository where you will be able to find past and current articles. We will continue to send you the newsletters via email on the second and fourth Thursday of each month but this will also allow us to post updates as needed. Visit the new page at: https://interact.gsa.gov/group/usaccess-blue-top-interact-site

The USAccess PIN is a six (6) to eight (8) digit number known only by the cardholder and used to authenticate the cardholder to an agency enterprise IT network. Your USAccess PIV - something you have - and PIN - something you know - are key elements of the multi-factor security used to access government data and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificates on your card's integrated computer chip. Your agency's logical or physical access systems may require the PIN to unlock the PIV card before you can successfully authenticate to the IT system.

Release 10.1 included CR 8511 – Do not require reissuance for expired certificates. With this change, when the certificates on an applicant’s credential expire, the USAccess system no longer requires re-enrollment for the applicant to renew the certificates on the credential.

Just prior to the December holidays, several Light Activation kits were shipped to a handful of customers with a new Suprema fingerprint device, instead of the Cogent 330 device. This swap occurred due to procurement issues with the Cogent 330. The performance of the Suprema is equal to the Cogent device and was tested thoroughly before deployment to the field.

On December 20, 2016 we sent out three brief questions to Agency Leads to better understand and support our customer encryption needs. If you haven't already responded to the survey we request that you do so as soon as possible.

With the release of 10.1 on January 7, 2017, you will now need to log into the USAccess portals with your PIV card and your PIN.  If you do not know your PIN or you think you may have forgotten it, please make an appointment at a credentialing center to get a new one. You may want to schedule an appointment sooner rather than later as there may be an increase in PIN resets due to this change.
