Thanks to the USAccess customer community for attending the August 26-27 USAccess strategy session. The MSO hosted over 100 USAccess customers, policy makers and industry stakeholders. The goal was to identify ways to improve overall customer service and make the USAccess Program more secure, efficient, and effective.
Based on previous discussions, the MSO suggests a pilot or phased approach for agencies with a small number of personnel to transition to V8.1 PIV cards first. This approach will allow the MSO to develop and apply lessons learned when proceeding with the medium-size and large agency transition.
As previously communicated in the Blue Top Newsletters and MSO emails to Agency Leads, communications between the USAccess system and all legacy equipment has been terminated as of August 30, 2019.
The MSO is encouraging agency customers to log into the USAccess Site Manager Tool to review and update (if necessary) their ship-to site addresses to include the agency name. We have recently seen an increase in returned cards because UPS does not know that the ship-to location is a federal agency.
The annual USAccess Disaster Recovery Exercise takes place the weekend of August 9-11, 2019. The exercise will run from 6 p.m. ET on Friday, August 9 through 11:59 p.m. ET on Sunday, August 11.
