SCSS 2019: Benefits And Risks Of Cloud Computing

Tuesday, September 10, 2019 - 8:30 AM to Wednesday, September 11, 2019 - 4:00 PM
NRECA Building, Suite 200 4301 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22203

Moving applications and data to the cloud has many benefits, including lower costs, accelerated computing speed, and the rapid provisioning of systems. The federal government is working to leverage the “anywhere, anytime” benefits of the cloud and has made cloud-adoption a central tenet of its IT modernization strategy. But choosing cloud services without becoming fully informed of the risks can also expose you to myriad commercial, financial, technical, legal, and compliance risks.

Join us at this event to learn about:

  • selecting cloud services

  • maximizing the gains of cloud solutions

  • understanding the vulnerabilities and risks in moving applications and data to the cloud

The first day, September 10, consists of plenary sessions that are FREE to the public. See our program at sei.cmu.edu/scss
