GSA’s Information Technology Category developed a Buyer’s Guide for agencies looking to address Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs). APTs are hacking processes in which a cybercriminal carries out a prolonged attack against a specific target. The recent exploitation of SolarWinds products is the latest example of an APT in the Federal space, and led to the issuance of Emergency Directive 21-01 to mitigate the compromise. The Buyer’s Guide provides key considerations organizations can take while evaluating potential APT products, solutions, and services.
APTs take advantage of multiple attack points in systems and networks, which introduces a more difficult cyberattack to mitigate. The APT Buyer’s Guide provides valuable information on the APT lifecycle and outlines several major APT attacks and their attack vectors. The Buyer’s Guide also summarizes key technical features and capabilities that APT vendors can provide to agencies interested in APT services, and identifies several GSA vehicles that agencies can use to acquire them.
