Attached is a pdf file for the updated 5-12-00022 Training Opportunities Slipsheet.     The general slipsheet refers customers to gsa.gov/csd to find their local CSD.  (A minimal stock will be available at CMLS after January 25th).  This is a low-resolution pdf and CSDs can easily email and/or print on a laser printer.

The Acquisition Excellence 2012 conference, which is jointly hosted by GSA and the American Council for Technology – Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC), provides an excellent opportunity to discuss and develop actionable ideas on federal information technology acquisition, policy, and program management issues in this challenging budget environment. Session tracks will focus on strategic acquisition – knowledge based buying and strategic collaborations.

As many of you are probably aware, on February 10, 2012 the Small Business Administration (SBA) issued a Final Rule increasing 37 small business size standards for 34 industries and three sub-industries in North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Sector 54 Professional, Technical, and Scientific Services.

So "AND" is significant?  Very few current contractors will meet these criteria - am I interpreting correctly?  Our center is getting a lot of calls and we want to make sure we are giving out proper advice.  Thanks,

May I clarify this for my non-contracting officials co-workers?  I think the message is that there are 3 ways to change the business size label on your MAS contract:1) Within 30 days of a novation agreement; or2) Within 30 days after a merger or...Read More

Maureen Duckworth stated quote "There is some other information about how the solicitations will be updated.  The update of a solicitation does not affect the existing business size label on a contract." This is correct.  A...Read More

We have had our MAS for just over 5 years and have noticed a sharp decline in sales from this particular contrac since January 2011.  We have a link on our company website to the GSA Advantage! site in the hopes that various gov't purchasing agents will utilize it but this doesn't seem to be happening.  Does anyone have any suggestions of ways we can market our MAS to help increase sales? Thanks! Evan Force, ServCorp Inc.

Hi Evan,A lot of factors likely contributed to your declining sales. There are more companies with GSA contracts than five years ago, adding to the pool of available contractors. Have you changed your marketing strategies? Have you been able to attend...Read More

Hi Pat and thanks for your response.  In terms of your suggestions, yes we have done all of those things.  We do understand that the GSA does not do marketing.  However, it seems that maybe GSA purchasing agents need to be more aware of...Read More

Don’t do business with Companies that Have an Unpaid Delinquent Tax Liability or a Felony Conviction.   Seems like common sense, right?  However, this information may not be immediately known to a contracting officer.  In accordance with Public Law 112-74 and Public Law 112-55, concerning appropriated funds for FY2012, contracting officers at some agencies may not make an award to companies that have an unpaid tax liability or felony

To kick off 2012 I wrote an article for agency personnel getting started with social media.  As I was reading over the edits to the article I thought this might be helpful also for our small busness community looking to step into the social network.  I'm in no way an expert as some of you proably have figured out.  I'm still in the learning curve and adapting to the changing cultures of each site.  I make mistakes with URL's, editing and more but I'm here trying to give what I can every day to make a difference for small businesses.  I'm growing with you and hoping that every moment I spen
