Acceptance of the governmentwide commercial purchase card is a strongly encouraged payment method. Schedule contractors are required to accept the purchase card for payments equal to or less than the micro-purchase threshold. Schedule contractors are also encouraged to accept the card as payment for orders above this threshold.

I'm interested to learn YOUR definition of green acquisition. To put the conversation into context, I work for a small, professional services firm that provides CMa (Construction Manager as agent) services for GSA. We don't design or build anything, but we're GSA's eyes and ears on a construction site. We ensure that buildings are built the way GSA expects, and mitigating risk to the Government.

The original post by Garrett contained very good points. My view of "Green Services" is that there is a high probability that an all-encompassing definition will not be found. Defining a green service will most likely be...Read More

To better meet the needs of GSA’s customer agencies, a deviation to FAR Part 51.1 has been approved to expand the authority of contractors to use GSA sources of supply placed on a time-and-materials (T&M)/labor-hour (LH) basis. Federal Government contracting officers have been authorized to give all GSA contractors access to the Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) and GSA Global Supply Programs when deemed appropriate for fulfillment of their agency requirements. Please note that the FSS Program is inclusive of those Schedules managed by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
