Introducing Options Processes Ensuring Integrity (OPEN). This fall, Federal Acquisition Service’s Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) is launching OPEN, a new way to exercise Options to Extend the Period of a Contract. OPEN is the result of a process improvement analysis that: •Greatly reduces the number of steps,•Introduces automated reports and documents,•Provides contract holders and Contracting Officers a clear timeline and underscores acquisition excellence and quality.

Interesting article on the proposed move of EPA's Kansas City, KS, headquaters. I'm guessing an analysis was conducted between renovating the existing space to attain LEED certification vs. this new facility (that is already LEED certified). LEED building standards don't account for many of the site, environmental, and commutable issues that the author raises.

Can an interested party protest an agency’s solicitation for schedule contract services/supplies, cancellation of an RFQ, or the award to another contractor on the same GSA Schedule (FAR 33.101)? Yes. In the MAS solicitations, we do have Clause 52.233-2, Service of Protest (SEP 2006), and it will have the address where to obtain written acknowledgement from the Contracting Officer.
