Industry Partners, Many of you have been asking questions as to when the RFQ will be released for the MRO FSSI.  We are in the final stages of receiving approval from the Strategic Sourcing Leadership Council (SSLC) and working to gather agency commitment letters.  Once this is complete we anticipate releasing the RFQ by late July or early August. Thank you for your participation in this process by providing all of your valuable questions and comments which have assisted in the development of the RFQ.

Hello everyone, The MRO Team has made several improvements to the draft RFQ that will be released, in final form, late July / early August.  The team will not release another draft RFQ or market basket prior to that date. Improvements are as follows: MRO Categories have been reduced from four* to three:     Hardware     Tools and Tool Cabinets     Paints and Finishes

Hello, The FSSI MRO Team is gearing up to release the final RFQ. In advance of the public release, we ask that you review and comment on the revised market basket.  Please carefully review the item descriptions - we want to know if they make sense or if you feel improvement is needed.  Are the descriptions clear? Should more information be provided, etc.? When suggesting improvements, be specific so we can make any necessary revisions. And be sure to include the item Reference ID so we know exactly to which item you are referring.

Greetings. The following comments and questions were recently submitted by the Coalition for Government Procurement (CGP) on behalf of its membership. They address areas of interest pertaining to the FSSI MRO and JanSan RFPs. The responses are provided by U.S. General Services Administration (GSA). Please feel free to inquire further about the information provided.

UPC-A is used for marking products which are sold at retail in the USA. The barcode identifies the manufacturer and specific product so point-of- sale cash register systems can automatically look up the price. UPC-A is the same as the standard 12 digit...Read More

Comment 72- you answer a confusing question for me that "if a contractor is awarded a BPA for a specific category, they may only offer products within the scope of that category in their non-market basket items. "     The rest of the...Read More

The correct reading is "non-market basket", not "non-market".  This means that products are within the awarded category but not in the evaluated market basket.  Please note Schedule 75 isn't applicable to the MRO...Read More

On July 9th GSA released an RFI on FedBizOpps for a Cloud Computing Services SIN under IT Schedule 70. Though IT Schedule 70 has always offered Cloud services, discussions across a myriad of customers, industry partners, and acquisition groups revealed that creating a new Special Item Number (SIN) specific to Cloud Computing Services may help agencies acquire cloud services on Schedule 70 more easily.

Q: If the government were to take a Complete Facilities Maintenance approach, how could this be structured? How should service types be grouped? Would these types of services differ based on building type or are there similar maintenance services that cross all properties?

The structure is flat. The contracting officer issues the contract and the contractor executes the contract. All statement of work and schedule (parts) requirements are at the task level.Felix Vermette
