Where We Are, Where We’re Headed: An Update

Greetings OASIS Community! Today, I’d like to provide a general update on where we are and what’s coming up for OASIS. On June 11, the OASIS team asked Industry members to provide feedback on a variety of important issues via white paper. On behalf of all of us here, I’d like to thank all of the companies that took the time to respond to our request. Frankly, we were overwhelmed and thrilled with the response. As a follow-up, we met with as many of those respondents as possible in one-on-one due diligence sessions to get additional feedback on their ideas, and we will complete the last few sessions by the end of next week. Throughout this process, we have gathered an immense amount of wonderful ideas and helpful feedback which will greatly assist us moving forward. Once again, thank you all for your responsiveness!

Now that we’ve gathered more feedback from both our Customer Working Group and our Industry Partners, the team will be coming together to sift through all the input and begin putting the final touches on the next documents in our process: the Final Acquisition Plan, the Source Selection Plan, and the Business Case to be posted on the OMB MAX portal. As you can imagine, there is a great deal of overlap in the contents of these critical documents so we will be generating them simultaneously over the next few weeks and ensuring they are properly vetted and approved within GSA and among key stakeholders.

While that review and approval process takes place, we will be finalizing our Draft Request for Proposals (RFP). Most of this document is already complete and the missing pieces will be added through the completion of the documents described above. A few months ago, we promised to release the Draft RFP this summer and I can say confidently that we are still on track to meet that deadline. We’re very excited to share our hard work with both our customers and our industry partners to get your feedback on how we can ensure the success of OASIS.

Once again, thank you all for your interest in OASIS and keep checking in here for updates!

Jim

Jeff Koses presentation on July 26 at the MAGIC Conference mentions a limited number of awards based on best in class and best value determination. Can you tell us how many awards are planned for the full and open and SB? Thanks.

Jim, It would help our planning and budgeting process to have an update target month for the DRFP release. Is this possible?

Hi Herb, and thank you very much for your question. As was presented at EXPO and again recently at the MAGIC Conference, the anticipated timeline for release of the Draft RFP is late Summer 2012. The OASIS Team is working diligently to try to meet this timeline and is still currently on schedule to do so. I hope this clarification will helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Jim

Jim, thank you so much for the update. My business did not submit a white paper, however, we are interested in learning more about the OASIS program. Although I do not have access to the MAX OMB portal, I would like to see the draft RFP when it is released this summer. Will GSA be posting the draft RFP on FBO?

Thank you,

Caitlin Cusati

Hi Caitlin, Thank you for your comment and question. The team is glad to hear you are interested in learning more about the program. In response to your question, GSA will be posting the draft RFP on FBO later this summer. We will post an announcement on this community when the draft RFP is available. Jim
