Veteran-owned small businesses may qualify for advantages when bidding on government contracts and can have access to other resources and support through the Vets First Verification Program. This program is managed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) and gives verified firms owned and controlled by veterans and service-disabled veterans the opportunity to compete for VA set-asides.

Visit https://www.va.gov/osdbu/verification/ to find out if you’re eligible, prepare for verification, and start the verification application process. VA also offers 

Verification Program Webinars and Town Halls to assist veteran-owned small businesses (VOSB) and service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSB) with various aspects of the verification process.

The VA OSDBU offers more services and support to assist you with your small business objectives. Areas of assistance include:

• Acquisition Support helps you find VA procurements, contract awards, and acquisition resources available to small and veteran businesses.

• Direct Access Program offers unique opportunities for veteran-owned small businesses to build partnerships, maximize networking, and gain access to procurement decision makers through Direct Access Events.

• Strategic Outreach and Communications connects Veteran-owned and other small businesses interested in doing business with VA to resources, education, and training.
