USAccess Release 18.0 and 18.1: June 20-21, 2020

USAccess system Release 18.0 and 18.1 are scheduled for production June 20-21 2020. The Release Notices were posted to the Agency Lead Portal (ALP). Most of the system enhancements are related to the transition to V8.1 PIV cards. The release includes the following changes:

  • Set V7 PIV card expiration date to align with the OMB-mandated date of June 30, 2024
    • USAccess will prevent new V7 cards from having an expiration date beyond June 30, 2024.
    • USAccess will not allow issuance of V7 cards after January 1, 2024. Sponsors will need to select the V8.1 PIV card body type after this date.
  • Support V7 or V8.1 PIV Card Type at Agency, Sub-Agency and Applicant Levels
  • Quarterly Update of Installers for Light Activation (LA) and Mobile Credentialing Units (MCU)
    • Note: Agencies should ensure their workstations are updated as close as possible to the Release 18.0 implementation on June 20-21, 2020. The LA and MCU installers will not have full functionality if installed earlier than the release weekend. Review the USAccess LA v5.3.0 MCU v2.3.0 Installers Release Notice posted to the ALP for further details.
  • Update Assured Identity Print Service Certificate that will expire on August 10, 2020. This certificate is required for the Local Print and the Personal Credential Assistant (PCA) service.
    • Note: Updating workstations with the new certificate and latest installers prior to the release weekend will limit the functionality of PCA and Local Print; and alternatively, any stations not updated after August 10, 2020 will lose PCA functionality.
  • Web Enrollment Optimization Capability upgrade to the current photo capture software that adds a manual optimization feature. Manual optimization will be allowed if the initial attempt to auto-optimize is not successful.
    • Note: Changes to the photo capture software as part of Release 18.0 will require users to make adjustments to the camera for MCU and FCU workstations. Detailed instructions to complete these adjustments are included in the MCU Installer documentation posted to the SFTP site and the USAccess LA v5.3.0 MCU v2.3.0 Installers Release Notice posted to the ALP.
  • Modification to prevent the Card Expiration Report from showing duplicate user data
  • Update to add the Privacy Policy to the Acknowledgement Page
  • Update to add the Privacy Policy to the Assured Identity Portal
