Category Management is a management concept the Federal government is applying to buy smarter and more like a single enterprise. It involves identifying commonly purchased areas of spend, collectively developing heightened levels of expertise, leveraging shared best practices, and providing acquisition, supply and demand management solutions.

Federal Acquisition Community Webinar: Did You Know You Can Use GSA Schedules to get Civilian Agency Contract Audit Support Services?

Have a need for auditing a cost reimbursable contract? Your solution may be found under SIN 520-7. An ongoing Civilian Contract Audit Working Group, co-led by GSA and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), has completed their initial work to evaluate acquisition strategies for civilian agencies to obtain contract audit services.The working group determined that a new contract solution is not needed as civilian contract audit support services can be acquired through the GSA Multiple Award Schedule program.

Join us as GSA shares how ordering agencies can use SIN 520-7 under the Schedules program to meet their contract audit needs, focusing on the 'how to'. We'll share resources and the consolidated best practices of 13 Federal Agencies, whom all provided input to the newly published Civilian Contract Audit Services Ordering Guide.

For Federal Acquisition Community: Steps to Performance Based Acquisition

The governmentwide Professional Services Category (PSC) will be shining a “spotlight” on performance based acquisition during the month of November including a webinar featuring a demonstration of the Steps to Performance-Based Acquisition (SPBA). SPBA is a digital application that presents the performance-based acquisition process in easy steps, complete with samples and examples, templates and other resources to make PBA more collaborative, performance-oriented, and team-focused.

This beta version of the digital application builds on the original content of the Steps to Performance Based Acquisition developed in 2001 and last updated in 2009. The original was as a web-enabled guide that would deliver information in layers, so that users could "drill down" to the required level of detail. The enhanced SPBA application allows users to easily navigate through, search and interact with content. This dynamic application provides a modern design and easy to use interface with smooth, effortless navigation capabilities and expanded search options for government acquisition professionals who are seeking guidance, resources and tools to support their work.

In addition to the webinar, the PSC will post performance based acquisition articles and resources on theAcquisition Gateway’s Professional Services Hallway. The articles can be found under the Featured Articles section.
