Recapping Fiscal Year 2018 and Looking Ahead to 2019

As we move into a new fiscal year, the goal of the IAE remains constant: to efficiently transition our legacy systems into one unified system called beta.SAM.gov. In 2018, tremendous progress was made toward fulfilling that long-term plan:

  • The successful launch of the beta site during the first quarter.
  • The implementation of functionality from CFDA.gov in the third quarter, making beta.SAM.gov the official and authoritative source for federal domestic assistance with more than 75,000 users worldwide since the transition.
  • Getting more than 108,000 direct views on the beta site.
  • Continuing to maintain our remaining legacy systems, which included the institution of login.gov to authenticate registered SAM.gov users.
  • The merging of the Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS) and Past Performance Information Retrieval System (PPIRS) in the fourth quarter.

Going into fiscal year 2019, we look to start the transition of WDOL and FBO into beta.SAM.gov while continuing to improve the user experience. The IAE will maintain its efforts to streamline the transition process and reduce the burden for our users who make, receive, and manage federal awards.

The Interact team will keep you updated on the latest news with the modernization effort as well as everything else going on in the IAE. Remember, the Interact blog is a two-way conversation. Feel free to respond to posts, ask questions, and provide input on our progress and how the beta site is working for you and look out for user testing announcements as we prepare for FBO’s transition.
