GSA and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) are interested in conducting an ongoing dialogue with industry and other interested parties in Government about the various phases of the Commercial e-Commerce Portal initiative. GSA and OMB are seeking feedback on initial ideas for general program design and buying practices and, in that context, whether existing laws, Executive Orders, policies or other requirements may hinder effective implementation of the program. This feedback will help the Government inform its Phase I implementation plan, due to Congress by March 12, 2018, 90 days of the provision’s enactment.

To that end, GSA and OMB are hosting a modified town-hall style public meeting about this initiative on January 9, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. EST to 4:00 p.m. EST. Attendees can attend the meeting in person at the GSA Auditorium, GSA Headquarters, located at 1800 F St NW, Washington, DC 20405 or virtually through GSA’s Internet meeting platform, Adobe Connect. Registration information can be found below.

Please note that GSA and OMB will not make presentations and will not answer questions during this public meeting. Instead, GSA and OMB will actively listen to the viewpoints and information presented by different interested parties. This meeting will focus on Phase I of Section 846 of the NDAA. Future sessions are envisioned to gather information for subsequent implementation phases.

Information regarding the specific format and agenda for the public meeting will be posted to GSA Interact over the coming weeks.

In-person Attendance

Note: Space is limited in the GSA Auditorium and advance registration is required for in-person attendance. Please email section846@gsa.gov if you wish to attend in-person.

The main entrance to GSA Headquarters (also referred to GSA Central Office) is located on F St NW between 18th St NW and 19 St NW. However, GSA recommends attendees use the South Lobby entrance on E St NW (between 18th St NW and 19 St NW) and arrive at least 30 minutes early to avoid long lines and delays in the lobby area. Directional sides will be posted in the building to guide attendees to the GSA Auditorium.

All non-Federal employees must display a picture ID, pass through a metal detector, and have packages scanned. Visitors will be given a visitor badge, which must be displayed on their outer garment, above the waist, at all times while in the building.

Virtual Attendance

Registration is not required to view the meeting virtually through GSA’s Internet meeting platform. Over the coming weeks, we will add additional details to this Commercial Platform Initiative group regarding the virtual meeting logistics.
