OSBU Staff Helps Coach Entrepreneurs

Recently GSA’s Office of Small Business Utilization (OSBU)’s Tom Corcoran joined panelists at the Washington DC Economic Partnership’s (WDCEP) monthly seminar to offer valuable coaching to young entrepreneurs .  WDCEP invited OSBU to participate in the series that supports small businesses and entrepreneurs in Washington, DC.

Tom Corcoran GSA,  Jennifer Schaus of Jennifer Schaus and Associates, and Faye Coleman of FEC Enterprises LLP (l to r) share advice with attendees

Over 60 people turned out for the event, some from as far away as Italy. Attendees come to WDCEP events because of the strong networking opportunities the organization is famous for fostering.

The October seminar, The Entrepreneur Road Map offered advice to young entrepreneurs in navigating the obstacles that up and coming entrepreneurs often encounter when starting their own business or trying to do business with local and federal governments.

WDCEP holds monthly seminars designed to facilitate greater networking and collaboration between federal and local government, private industry, and small businesses.

The non-profit, public-private organization’s core purpose is to actively position, promote, and support economic development and business opportunities in Washington, DC. It is recognized nationally and internationally as one of Washington D.C.’s primary economic development resources.

Tom Corcoran, GSA, coaches entrepreneurs on the steps involved in acquiring a GSA Schedule.

In addition to Corcoran, speakers included Jennifer Schaus of Jennifer Schaus and Associates, and Faye Coleman of FEC Enterprises LLP. Corcoran was joined by OSBU Veteran Outreach Specialist Michael Radney.

Individuals interested in attending future seminars are encouraged to visit the WDCEP website.
