October 18th Reverse Industry Day Spotlight Webinar Recording Now Online

The Reverse Industry Day (RID) Acquisition Gateway spotlight webinar from October 18, 2017, is now available on GSA’s YouTube channel. We encourage you to watch. The panel featured a robust conversation with federal leaders offering advice on staging a successful RID, lessons learned and where the event format is headed in the future.

The speakers were:

-Ken Brennan, Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Procurement Acquisition Policy (DPAP), Deputy Director, Services Acquisition

-Nina Ferraro, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Acting Deputy Chief Procurement Officer

-Millisa Gary, General Services Administration (GSA), Procurement Ombudsman

Reverse industry days are a unique format that gives center stage to industry partners and allows them to address their most pressing issues with the acquisition workforce.  It is an industry-government interaction launched by DHS’ Procurement Innovation Lab, and has caught the attention of the acquisition workforce and industry alike. In FY 2017, agencies adopted this practice across government.

The webinar and related content are posted on the Acquisition Gateway’s Professional Services Category Hallway, including all the sessions from a June 2017 DHS RID, as part of a recent supplier relationship management (SRM) monthly spotlight.

The Acquisition Gateway supports category management by expanding the use of high-quality, high-value strategic sourcing solutions to improve the government’s buying power and reduce contract duplication.  The Gateway makes information accessible to the federal community in a single online location and allows agencies to provide valuable feedback on important and relevant policies and issues.

Although October was the spotlight month, the PSC is committed to long term supplier relationship management initiatives and encourages an ongoing dialogue among contracting offices and program offices across government. For more information about the PSC SRM program contact Zachary Lerner at zachary.lerner@gsa.gov  or (253) 931-7572.

The next Professional Services Category Spotlight webinar featuring a demonstration of the SPBA is on November 30. The SPBA application is part of an ongoing effort to support the principles of category management and help the federal acquisition community buy smarter and more efficiently.
