New File to apply to MCUs, LA and LCS kits on SFTP Server

As a result of the GSA security requirement to remove the use of TLS 1.0 from the USAccess infrastructure, any workstation that connects to the USAccess service to complete enrollments or activations will need a registry update to disable TLS 1.0 in the workstation’s configuration as well as add TLS 1.1/1.2 support to the CCM libraries. This impacts all fixed Credentialing Units (FCUs), legacy fixed enrollment/activation workstations, Mobile Credentialing Units (MCUs), as well as Light Activation (LA) and Light Credentialing Solution (LCS) kits. Adding TLS 1.1/1.2 support to the CCM libraries and updating the registries is required for all workstations.

Agencies should deploy this update as soon as possible, as the backend change to remove TLS 1.0 support will be removed the weekend of August 18-19.

To ease distribution of the change on MCUs, LA and LCS kits, we’ve posted two files on the USAccess SFTP:

  • USAccess TLS 1.2 Hotfix Files.zip
  • USAccess TLS 1.2 Hotfix Instructions.pdf

The files contain the registry update and the CCM update as well as instructions on how to update these machines. The update can be made before August 18-19, meaning it works in our current IT infrastructure.

Fixed/FCU workstations will be updated using our automated system, so no Agency intervention is needed for these fixed units.

NOTE: This is separate and unrelated to the MCU v1.4 and LA v4.5 installers that are also posted on the SFTP server.
