MRO Requisition Channel Draft RFQ Available for Comment

Hello Industry Partners,

As part of its ongoing approach to streamline operations and save costs, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), Federal Acquisition Service (FAS), is leveraging the purchasing volume of strategic suppliers capable of providing exceptional service and prices to the Federal Government. In July 2014, the Federal Strategic Sourcing MRO Office released a Draft RFQ for the Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) Requisition Channel based on Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) 51-V, SIN 105-002 Hardware, Home Improvement, or MRO Catalog. The overall goal of this Requisition Channel acquisition is to provide the government with a fast and efficient way for federal agencies to requisition for MRO supplies and commodities at discounted prices with prompt, cost-effective delivery and effective customer service. The Requisition Channel differs from the Purchase Channel as it is NSN-based, but includes Part Numbers; GSA then places the orders on behalf of the customer agencies of which they are supplying.

Since the initial Draft RFQ for the MRO Requisition Channel was released in July 2014, additional Industry feedback has been received, resulting in several changes to the Draft RFQ. These include increasing the market basket size, dividing the categories further into nine (9) total tools and hardware categories, and allowing for the award of two vendors per category for East and West coast fulfillment. These updates have been incorporated into the revised Draft RFQ for the MRO Requisition Channel.

GSA will be accepting feedback from August 17 through August 28, 2015. The DRAFT RFQ, along with a Summary of Draft Changes document, can be found at: www.ebuy.gsa.gov, under “Sources Sought” posting number RFQ1022276.
