Minutes from 19 February Meeting

The following are notes from the last SF-AIC Meeting:
1.  Training Updates:
a.  We hope to have a place designated on the FEB site to post all training.  This will provide easier access to information.
b.  GSA is hosting FAST 2020 (Federal Acquisition Service Training) Conference in April.  Please see https://www.cvent.com/events/2020-gsa-federal-acquisition-service-training-fast-/event-summary-9ce469a41b52492ebf99a2afb3099308.aspx
c.   GSA has set up Acquisition and PM courses and some are listed in FAITAS. However, there is a first preference for GSA employees.  In addition, several of the classes are specifically tailored for a PBS audience (cost estimating/design guide from the Public Buildings Service P-100/P-120 guidance).  Approximately 10 days prior to the commencement of the class and if there are available seats, GSA will make a determination to open them up to other agencies. If seats are available we (Jackie and Les) will be notified by the GSA training coordinators and will share with the SF-AIC.
2.  Small Business Week is May 4-8, 2020.  SBA plans on a more targeted/focused approach to training/information they will be conducting.  Julie Clowes will provide information once it is finalized for our possible participation and/or dissemination.
We also discussed hosting an Industry Day in November this year with a more targeted focus based on the need of the agencies represented on the SF-AIC.  More research will be done with regard to categories/areas of focus as well as the specific small business sub-categories we want to target.  We will also look at having match-making if the event is targeted for specific markets.
a.  Agencies that will have booths at the event are GSA; SBA; USDA; US Coast Guard; FEMA and NASA.
b.  Participating on the panel will be :
Les Yamagata, GSA; James Bartha, USACE; Julie Clowes, SBA; Demetria Carter, FEMA and Sarah Pollack, NASA.
Christine Munroe, NASA will serve as the moderator.
c.  We have requested that the NORCAL PTAC allow questions to be submitted by Industry when they register so we can share with panel members in advance.
d.  We will disseminate additional information to those participating as it becomes available or if warranted have a conference call.

4.  Our next meeting is scheduled for May 20, 2020.
