Launch of the SSQ+ Capability for GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Contracts Replacing Previous MAS Performance Dashboards

The Federal Acquisition Service’s (FAS) Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) program streamlines the process of purchasing products and services for the federal government. The MAS program provides millions of commercial products, services and solutions through almost 14,000 contract holders with approximately $33 Billion of volume.

The MAS contract vehicle is consistently adding new contractors everyday, and it is important that these contractors complete proper market research and understand the Federal market. For decades, FAS has publicly provided the ability for Industry, the Public, and other Government Agencies the ability to see the business volume of these vehicles. However, this was previously accomplished through canned Excel or text reports that could be downloaded at the ssq.gsa.gov site. Prospective contractors are required to utilize these reports to demonstrate that they have some understanding of the market they are trying to enter.

To improve this process, FAS has created a new dashboard that will in a more dynamic way provide this information to our prospective and current contractors. The new SSQ+ will go beyond merely providing the amount of money moving through the MAS program – the spend data that’s captured provides important business intelligence, including insights into federal purchasing patterns.

Contractors will be able to easily see how their company stacks up compared to other contractors on the same Schedule, how their sales compare to the competition overall, and how data intelligence can be leveraged to improve business practices and take advantage of new opportunities.  The information provided by FAS is especially important for small businesses that may not have adequate resources to conduct their own in-house data analytics.  

This new, user-friendly public dashboard offers searchable and filterable information all the way from FY91 to present, including MAS sales by fiscal year and quarter, overall sales by contractor, sales by Schedule, sales by SIN, average sales by contract, count of contracts by fiscal year, and business volume by geographic location.  Drilling down deeper in the map section, users can zoom in and search for vendors by city, state, or zip code to see sales numbers and even more underlying data like contract number and reporting office.

We invite prospective contractors and current contractors to use this new dashboard, you will be automatically sent there from the previous Schedules Sales Query website. Also, if you are a prospective contractor, please visit our MAS Roadmap to assist new offerors with a plain language look on how to submit an offer to sell commercial products and services under the MAS.

FAS plans to provide training on the SSQ+ Tool in December 2017. The training session dates/times will be announced shortly on GSA Interact in a separate post.
