IAE Industry Day - What’s New In SAM.gov: MARCH 29, 2017

Dear Industry Partners,


You are invited to participate in the next Integrated Award Environment (IAE) industry outreach event to be held on March 29, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM ET.  We will discuss recent improvements in the current System for Award Management (SAM). To allow for maximum participation, this will be an entirely virtual event.


While IAE is busy building the future SAM.gov, which will encompass and improve upon the current IAE functionality, we are simultaneously maintaining the current 10 systems. In SAM with every software release, we work to improve the user experience, improve the quality of information available from SAM, and reduce the burden for those wishing to do business with the U.S. federal government.


This Industry Day, we will discuss the user-facing changes made to the SAM application and database deployed on February 24, 2017. In addition to fixing known issues and some minor enhancements, in this release we:

  • Redesigned the SAM Homepage to provide a more user-friendly entrance point from which to begin navigating the website;

  • Added the SAM Status Tracker to the main navigation bar to allow users to quickly check their entity registration status without logging into the system;

  • Significantly improved the IRS Consent page offering clear direction to users for properly executing the consent; and

  • Updated the Reps & Certs module in several places to align with current policy.


Meredith (Memi) Whitehead, who manages the current SAM, will lead the discussion about these changes. There will be ample time for questions-and-answers at the end of the program.

This is the 12th in a series of Industry Day events initiated by IAE to increase openness and transparency about the IAE program, the 10 systems we run, and the progress being made on the new environment that will merge the systems together.
