IAE Industry Day a Success: Target Technical Architecture

Thank you to everyone who attended our April 7th industry meeting on the IAE’s target technical architecture. More than 230 people joined us for the meeting when we laid out IAE’s plans for agile, open development.  Navin Vembar and Pam Miller provided the specifics of IAE’s thinking and planning around the future of a common services platform in which everything from IAM, hosting and APIs as well as data stores and Search will be a service.  We talked about scalability given that the award cycles in the Government can flux with both the calendar and market and current events.  As of right now, we’ve identified at least 65 (sixty five!!) high level business processes to be integrated into the Environment.

IAE hopes to share a draft Statement of Objectives (SOO) for the Common Services acquisition in mid to late April.  We are looking for robust, innovative industry feedback to ensure that we are capturing the requirements and capabilities we need to meet our important mission of fostering the Federal award processes across the Government.

As always, our goal is to be as open as possible with interested parties and to constantly be on the lookout for ideas and suggestions about how we can best achieve our goals.  Please feel free to share feedback about the April 7th  event or any of the documentation available through the Interact IAE Industry Community blog or at IAEoutreach@gsa.gov.

The April 7 session followed IAE’s December 2013 Industry Day where we discussed IAE's architectural principles and overall high-level architecture.  A key part of that architecture is the establishment of the Common Services platform which is expected to support an agile, continuously integrated environment that can be leveraged to deploy IAE business functionality.

IAE also is currently seeking feedback on the eSRS and FSRS process maps available here.  Please review and submit comments by April 19.
