Last week, FBO.gov (Federal Business Opportunities) was retired and its key functionalities were transitioned into beta.SAM.gov. All the things users used to do in FBO.gov can now be done in beta.SAM.gov under “Contract Opportunities.”
As users begin to get acquainted with new and improved functionalities in beta.SAM.gov, we’ve started to hear some common themes from the feedback regarding the new Contract Opportunities environment. During the next few days, we will use this space to share helpful hints and guidance about some of those themes.
To begin with, we’ve received some feedback from users wanting to know how to save searches in contract opportunities in beta.SAM.gov.
There is much information about how to save searches in the Learning Center on beta.SAM.gov, including a how-to video and FAQs. There also are FAQs about how to save searches at FSD.gov.
How to save searches or download contract opportunities in beta.SAM.gov:
Saved Search capabilities are available to all users who log in - no roles are required. Use your Login.gov credentials to log in to beta.SAM.gov.
Once logged in, conduct a search of contract opportunities using your desired criteria. Once you complete your search, you have two options: Saved Search and Download. Saved Search saves the search parameters to your profile so that you can run the search again any time you like. You will be prompted to name your search. Download will prompt you to download all the results in either CSV or PDF formatted files. Once downloaded you can save on your drive.
You can access your saved searches in multiple locations. The menu in the upper left corner, near Search Results has links to where saved searches may be run or managed. Saved searches may also be accessed from your user profile. We will be implementing the search notification emails shortly. Users will be able to opt in to receive a daily email notification for new results in a saved search.
Remember, if you need further assistance using beta.SAM.gov, the Federal Service Desk is here to help Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET at FSD.gov. Access the beta.SAM.gov Learning Center any time for step-by-step videos and instructions.
Stay tuned to Interact for more helpful hints, coming soon!
