GSA Names Professional Services Industry Liaison

The professional services team here at GSA has had a busy year and, as with our other initiatives, we are making good progress improving engagement with our industry partners. As part of this work, I am happy to announce that we are making another important improvement by appointing Kathy Jocoy as the professional service’s industry liaison. In her new role, Kathy will be the primary point of contact for industry as GSA realigns its Federal Acquisition Service around category management, a more strategic business approach that will enable the federal government to buy smarter and more like a single enterprise.

What does this mean for our industry partners?

Category management is going to significantly improve how FAS interacts with industry, eliminating redundancy and the duplication that currently clutters our work together.  The professional service category is committed to working closely with industry to make sure that the best they have to offer is available to the government. Through focus groups, roundtable discussions, industry workshops, webinars and social media, we want to expand the conversation and ensure we have fully engaged the community in improving our contract vehicles and programs. I know that Kathy, with more than 33 years of outstanding government contracting experience, will cultivate a proactive positive relationship between with our industry partners.

Kathy can be reached at kathy.jocoy@gsa.gov or 253-931-7080.  Also look for her on Interact, she’ll be blogging regularly about important topics and hosting monthly webinars to answer industry questions about the category’s contracting programs.

The Professional Services Category team and I are committed to better supporting the federal acquisition community and believe these investments can result in real performance improvements. I look forward to sharing our progress with you on both on GSA.gov and our Interact web forums.
