GSA Names New Leadership for Integrations

Greetings!

Since the launch of the Integrations Industry Community in November 2011, GSA’s goal has been to provide industry with as much information as possible about this exciting new business offering. As Director of Acquisition Operations in the Office of General Supplies and Services, I would like to join the conversation for the first time and take this opportunity to personally update you regarding the progress of Integrations.

To begin, I would like to introduce you to Jim Ghiloni, who will now serve as Program Executive Officer. Our former PEO, Lisa Maguire, has handed off the role to Jim. We thank Lisa for her dedication to the Integrations project. She has been instrumental not only in serving as the architect of Integrations, but in ensuring that industry members are part of the development process. We wish her the best of luck in her new role at GSA; we know she will make a great impact in her new position as she has done as PEO of Integrations.

Jim will work closely with leaders across FAS and the core team to design and build Integrations. He has served as director of Business and Acquisition Operations for the Assisted Acquisition Service in FAS, as deputy director for Government-wide Acquisition (GWAC) programs and as the Alliant GWAC program manager, which gave him great experience with large-scale multi-agency contracts. As you can see, he is uniquely qualified to lead tomorrow’s premier professional services vehicle. The team here is very excited to have him on board.

Also, as some of you read in our earlier postings, FAS Commissioner Steve Kempf recently signed the internal business case. What this means is that Integrations is on track and moving full speed ahead. The wheels are in motion. Our Integrations team has drawn up a ‘to-do’ list for the upcoming weeks and months; we will be sure to keep you informed along the way as Integrations gets closer to launch. Our 2012 goals are to develop and finalize the external business case, develop a draft Request for Proposal (RFP) and continue to engage industry so that the process is as transparent as possible. We value your input and want to ensure that your voice is heard.

One point I would like to take this opportunity to clarify: Unlike Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (GWACs) which enable federal agencies to buy innovative solutions for information technology (IT) requirements, Integrations is a multi-agency, multiple award, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity task and delivery order contract. While some have assumed that Integrations is a GWAC, they are indeed two separate solutions. We expect Integrations, an acquisitions solution for complex integrated professional services with a support IT component, to change the way government works.

In closing, please feel free to reach out to us anytime with your questions and comments about Integrations. We want this community to serve as a key resource for industry and we are always glad to receive your input. We look forward to hearing from you.
