End of the Year Opportunities

As we approach the end of the fiscal year, agencies across the government are looking to spend the remaining funds in their FY16 budgets. That's an opportunity for you to get in on some end-of-the-year business. The Office of Small Business Utilization knows that finding that business is sometimes the biggest challenge, but we have a solution that can help.

GSA launched the Forecast of Contracting Opportunities as a tool to make procurement opportunities from GSA and Department of State, Department of the Treasury, Department of Education, Social Security Administration and US Agency for International Development (USAID) easier for companies to find.  You can search by agency, by socioeconomic category, by NAICS codes and other criteria to make it easier for you to find what you are selling ... whether it's products or services.

The Business Opportunity Development Reform Act of 1988, requires Federal agencies to compile and make available, projections of all acquisitions including contracting opportunities for small businesses.

The Forecast is a primary means for communicating contracting needs to the vendor community. It's critical to enhance competition. Fourth quarter opportunities are currently available and more are added regularly.

Don’t stop with the Forecasting tool, there are other places you can go to find opportunities:

As always, make sure your company profile is up-to-date online in System for Award Management (SAM). If you are a Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) contract holder, you should also ensure your eLibrary listing is current. That way, agencies and offices who may need to contact you can find you. This is especially true as we approach the end of the fiscal year and agencies are working to meet their socioeconomic goals.
