Administrator Roth Announces “Making It Easier” Initiative

Yesterday, GSA Administrator Denise Turner Roth launched the Making It Easier initiative — a part of our broader strategy as an economic catalyst across the country to enable economic growth at a local level. The initiative makes it easier for new and innovative companies to do business with the government. The initiative also provides small businesses with the tools and support they need to do work with the government through the Multiple Award Schedules program.

The launch included four Making It Easier Initiatives:

IT Schedule 70 FASt Lane - IT Schedule 70 vendors should be able to provide products and services to federal agencies at the speed of innovation, addressing the rapid pace and growth of the government’s technology needs. To that end, IT Schedule 70 now has a FASt Lane. The program reduces the time it takes to process certain modifications to 24 - 48 hours and improves the time it takes for certain groups of vendors to get on Schedule from a 110 day average to 30 days. For additional information contact us at fastlane@gsa.gov.

IT Schedule 70 Startup Springboard - This is an IT Schedule 70 Pilot Program designed to accommodate rapid growth and technology changes. This initiative allows for the substitution of the 2 year professional experience requirement for highly qualified businesses, using a wide range of criteria in evaluating their ability to perform excellent work for government agencies. This pilot program is specific to IT Schedule 70 and will not immediately impact the 2 year corporate experience requirement on other Schedules. For additional information contact us at S70Springboard@gsa.gov.

Plain Language Roadmap - We’ve heard from industry partners that navigating the process to get on Schedules is confusing and complicated. To help simplify the process of becoming an IT Schedule 70 supplier, GSA developed the IT 70 Plain Language Roadmap, a robust website with step-by-step instructions, offering potential vendors a clear and concise roadmap to successfully navigating the offer process. This site breaks down the current process to discrete, easy to follow steps and provides support to new vendors that allows most businesses to work with GSA without the need to hire a consultant.

MAS Welcome Package - GSA’S direct link for new Schedule holders designed to help them achieve and sustain success. The MAS Welcome Package is a one-stop-shop for contractors to locate information, guidance and resources that is current, consistent, accurate and most importantly easy to use. No longer will our newly awarded industry partners have to struggle with confusing and inconsistent information. GSA developed this tool to allow each firm to hit the ground running and armed with the knowledge and tools needed for a successful partnership.
