Action Required for PIV-I Pilot Customers

New PIV-I Entrust NFI Root CA Certificates Available

We were notified recently that Entrust is rekeying their NFI Certificate Authority (CA) on June 1. This is the CA used to issue the certificates used on PIV-I cards. There is a six-month extension on the Entrust NFI CA cross certificate.

Only PIV-I pilot Agencies (GSA, Commerce, DOI, DOJ) need to update their Light machines and IT infrastructures (e.g., PACS, LACS, VPNs) with the new NFI root CA certificates. These are the only Agencies with card holders who have or issue PIV-I cards at this time.

Once the certificates and instructions for updating Light machines and IT infrastructures are posted, the MSO will send out an email letting the pilot customers know.
