2nd Generation Information Technology (2GIT) BPA Announcement

Over the course of two years, GSA worked with the U.S. Air Force (USAF) to better understand their IT procurement requirements and demonstrate the benefits of using GSA to build a next generation contract solution for IT hardware and software, ancillary supplies, and services. USAF’s current contract solution, NETCENTS-2 IT Products, expires in November 2019.

In 2018, GSA and the U.S. Air Force signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU)  which laid the groundwork for us to establish multiple award Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) for their requirements.

The 2GIT BPA will replace the NETCENTS-2 IT Products IDIQ contract and is expected to be available to all DoD, federal government agencies, state, local, and tribal governments to purchase IT, security, and law enforcement products and services offered through specific Schedule contracts. Cooperative Purchasing allows eligible entities to purchase from approved industry partners, at any time, for any reason, using any funds available. GSA’s Cooperative Purchasing program.

The benefits of 2GIT extend government-wide. Benefits include:

  • Category Management Principles
  • Rapid IT acquisition solutions for the customers
  • Better pricing
  • Improved supply chain risk management and supplier risk management
  • Increase of authorized resellers of major OEMs
  • Maximizing price competition for OEMs products under IT Schedule 70
  • Increased small business participation
  • Increase in collection of prices paid data for IT
  • Ability to track savings
  • Reduction of duplicative contracts and administrative burden
  • Complimentary Customer Support and Training; On-site and Virtual
