Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS)

This bulletin addresses three topics: 1) Requirement to Issue Task Order Modifications; 2) New Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) and Broadband Internet Service (BIS); and 3) End of Support for Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE).  

In August 2020, Microsoft announced they were retiring support for Internet Explorer (IE) for their Microsoft 365 tools (Microsoft Teams, Office365, etc.) which means that “customers will have a degraded experience or will be unable to connect to Microsoft 365 apps and services on IE 11”. They based their decision on changes in technology:

The Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions (EIS) program is being impacted due to MicroTechnologies, LLC, the parent company, transferring the EIS contract to its wholly-owned subsidiary company, Defined Technologies, LLC, on November 18, 2020. EIS Contracts: The MicroTechnologies, LLC EIS contract is being renamed as Defined Technologies, LLC EIS contract. The Government’s and contractor’s rights and obligations remain unaffected by this name change. The estimated dollar value of the contract remains unchanged.
